With a balanced line-up of speakers, each with their own unique perspective, attendees got a 360-degree view of the Behavioral Health Redesign plans. Attendees included decision-makers and key influencers from communities interested in behavioral health in Wisconsin.
Many were curious how the new Acute Mental Health Hospital in West Allis will affect the community and their own organizations.
Of course, attendees came with specific questions on their minds...hoping to learn more. Examples:
Advocates may wonder: Will the redesign better respond to the needs and values of the community?
Community Providers may wonder: Will the redesign properly respond to taxpayer and constituent expectations?
Elected officials and other Government staff may wonder: What will be the future role and funding for community providers within the redesign?
Law Enforcement and Paramedics may wonder: Will the redesign be more efficient in accepting and processing behavioral health patients engaged by law enforcement?
State Department of Health Services staff may wonder: How will the redesign align and fulfill the state plan, relieving dependency on Medicaid and other state resources.
HealthCare Provider Systems may wonder: How will these local private healthcare resources integrate with the new Acute Mental Health Hospital?
Colleges and Universities may wonder: What skills will students need to be successful in the work world within the new design environment?
