The iCare Medicaid SSI Plan was the highest-overall-ranked Medicaid SSI Health Maintenance Organization by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services in their 2017 HMO Report Card released June 13, 2019.
Star Rating System
Each HMO received 1 to 5 stars (more stars for better performance) in each major area of care, based on how well it performed compared to national benchmarks.
The Report Card also has an overall quality scores for all major areas of care. Five stars is the highest score. The iCare Medicaid SSI Plan achieved scores of 5 stars on Staying Healthy and 4 stars on Living with Illness and Mental Health Care. 2 stars were given for Emergency Department Visits, for an overall score of 3.7, the highest ranking of the eight plans in the Report Card.
About the Report Card
The HMO Report Card reviews quality of health care that Wisconsin Medicaid members received from Medicaid SSI Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) in 2017. This is the most recent Report Card. For SSI HMOs, it includes ratings compiled about four major areas of care:
1. Staying Healthy
2. Living with Illness
3. Mental Health Care
4. Emergency Department Visits
